Manufactured by Elanco, Credelio flea and tick treatment for dogs is a beef-flavored chew that eliminates 100% fleas if administered regularly. It also treats ticks including American dog tick, lone star tick, black-legged tick, and brown dog tick within 48 hours. The oral treatment eliminates 100% fleas within 12 hours of administration. Its palatable taste has made it popular amongst dogs. Credelio is safe to use for puppies and dogs more than 8 weeks of age.
Lotilaner, which is an ectoparasite is a member of the isoxazoline group. It hinders insect and acarine gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA)-gated chloride channels. This inhibition blocks the transfer of chloride ions across cell membranes, which causes an uncontrolled neuromuscular activity leading to the death of insects and acarines. The beef flavored chew should be administered on the puppies 8 weeks of age and older and weighing 4.4 pounds or greater.
